William was born in 1827. At the 1881 census he was the head of the following household:[1]

He passed away accidentally in 1889.[2]The Maple Leaf (Albert, April 25 1889) reported on his untimely death:[3]
Wednesday of last week about 16 o'clock, William Stevens of Harvey Point, one of the workmen on the new vessel at the Bank, fell into the hold, a distance of about ten feet and was instantly killed. He fell on a chopping-block on the keelson striking first on his jaw, breaking his jaw and neck. Deceased was about 62 years of age. He leaves a widow and eight children.
