I want to volunteer to help others search their family histories. I am involved with my local Heritage Society, Family Tree Group and have access to many R.C. parish records. I can offer help to others. I my position, I am responsible for Archives and everything in it.

Just cleaning up loose ends. What are R.C. parish records? Which city, state, county, and country are you referring? What local area society? (Thanks)

I have a problem and I don't see it addressed in the help drop down. How do I contact an administrator so that I can change my email address? Thank you

Hi. President Lincoln was the only child of Nancy Hanks who survived to adulthood. However, he did have a sister. In an 1846 letter to Andrew Johnston, Lincoln talked about a visit to his childhood home : "I went into the neighborhood in that state in which I was raised, where my mother and only sister were buried ..." Lincoln reportedly also had a brother named Thomas who died in infancy, but I haven't seen a source for that.

Perhaps the best source for Lincoln is http://www.thelincolnlog.org/ which includes a chronology compiled by the Lincoln Sesquicentennial Commission, along with corrections and additions by the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency and the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum.

Currently, all of the histories state that they were married prior to going to Canada in 1787/1788. I would say that the PA marriage is the correct location. May have to find something in the Quaker records.

"Crawford-4571 and Crawford-4232 are not ready to be merged because: there are two different locations for marriage with no documented source. Please correct before profiles can be merged. Thanks!"

Belated thanks for the Eisenhower info you forwarded in February and corrections (implemented by you or someone else) to errors that I'd made. I was so caught up in dealing with damage from winter storms that I could only file messages like yours for later reply. *Now* is the "later", and I can only hope to get caught up before this winter season hits with full force.

Mary, I owe you a public apology re: Philip Delano / De_Lannoy-16. My decision to remove the Huguenot template from his profile was based on my lack of understanding of the connection between Walloons and Huguenots (about which I'm only now learning). It's increasingly looking like they were more or less one and the same. I have an email into the Huguenot Society seeking clarification about this. Assuming they accept Walloon in their criteria for membership, I will put the Huguenot template back on De_Lannoy-16 and adjust the profile accordingly. I had asked about a possible Walloon/Huguenot connection back on 9/16 but only recently got an answer on g2g about it. I wish that answer had come sooner. In any case, I apologize for any bad feelings my decision caused.

Hello Mary, I think you are referring to the Comment that I had left on Witbeck-1, regarding the other Witbeck lineage. My comment is harmless. It is merely a handy pointer that I left for pursuit of research on the New Netherland lines.

I changed no data on that proflle, which is an Open profile, in any case. It seems that you are unaware of the New Netherland project, regarding that profile which you had adopted, so please click through to the project links to see what it is about.

There is no merge with Jan, pending, or otherwise. If you are confused about the banner template, you need to understand that it is simply a template, as part of our project assessment process, in which New Netherland profiles get a PPP, and are added to the New Netherland categories.

Mary, Please make sure you are doing the tidying up of profiles after a merge. Thanks for all your help.

Hi Mary

I had to give up for a while as my head was spinning trying to sort things out. I have come back and the error still exists. The father of Martin Joseph is still Ann Larkin i edited this to change it to Cornelius but now i have created another Cornelius. I says to use the URL ID but i have searched and searched and cannot find it.. Will keep trying for a while longer but it does seem that once you make a mistake it is a nightmare to correct. Thank you for your assistance.
