Biography

Esther was born in 1915. She was the daughter of Harry Stipp and Cora Sowder.

Bedford – Esther S. Mitchell, 91, of 105 Heltonville Road East, Bedford, died at 7:55 pm on Thursday, May 24, 2007 at the Hospitality House in Bedford.

Born September 12, 1915 in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Ed and Ethel (Sowder) Stipp. She was a school teacher for forty-three years in various schools in Lawrence County, mainly at Fayetteville. She was a member of the Pleasant Run Methodist Church, A.A.R.P. and Retired Lawrence County Teachers Assoc. She married Glen D. "Bunk" Mitchell and he preceded her in death on April 28, 1970.

Survivors include one daughter, Glenda Mitchell of Bedford; one son, Glen E. Mitchell of Bedford; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, Mary Bundy and one brother, John Stipp. She passed away in 2007.
