Isaac Stones was born in 1845 in Lancashire^[1]. (1871 census shows his birthplace as Mellor and we are able to find the birth record. His mother's maiden name on the GRO index is COUNSELL).^[2]

His parents married in 1841^[3].

In 1865 Isaac married Ann Pye^[4].
