Biography

STOUTENBOROUGH, Robert L. 79, died peacefully in his home January 8, 2009. Born March 5, 1929 in Middletown, to Paul and Eva Marie (Conrad) Stoutenborough. In 1951 he graduated from Miami University, where he was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. He graduated 1st from Officers Candidate School, and served our country as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army during the Korean War. He then went to work for Stoutenborough Electric Company, and in 1976 became President and Owner. A devoted family man and local business owner, his favorite vacation spot was the family's cabin at Lake Williamstown, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Dean; and aunt Leona Conrad. Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ann (Hammerle) Stoutenborough; children Lea (Tony) Thoman, Scott (Kaye) Stoutenborough, and Carol (Brad) Algra; grandchildren Nols and Kyle Evans, Daniel (Julie), Jonah (Stephanie), and Rachel (Justin) Stoutenborough, and Melanie and Hayden Algra; greatgrandchildren Jonah, Jaiden, Devan and Jayla; a niece, Donna Stoutenborough (Wade Sankey), and a nephew, Dan (Joan) Stoutenborough, and their families. Also, foster granddaughters Sherry (Joe) Reyes, Jenny Owens, and Missy (Rich) Shepherd, and their families. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, January 12, at the First Presbyterian Church, officiated by Pastor Tim Doty. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 PM Sunday at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Woodside Cemetery, with military honors by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Young Life OH 22, PO Box 1124, Middletown, Ohio 45042, or to the First Presbyterian Church, 2910 Central Avenue, Middletown, Ohio 45044.
