Biography

Milton Stowe was born in Lancashire, England.

Milton Stowe migrated from England to Canada.

Milton was born in Nelson, Lancashire, England, on June 9, 1892. He was the son of John Stow and Mary Rodgers. His father passed away in 1895. His mother married John Crossley in 1897. Milton was enumerated in the 1901 census as a nine year old residing at 1 Caleb Street, Nelson, with mother, brother Wilford, and step father. He was living with his mother and step father at 64 Sackville Street, Nelson, in 1911. He was eighteen, single, and a "Weaver Cotton".

Milton emigrated to Canada in 1913. He arrived in Halifax, Nova Scotia on April 2, 1913 aboard the ship Dominion out of Liverpool. He was drafted into the Canadian Military January 23, 1918, by the authority of the Military Services Act 1917 (Canada). Regimental No. 3314414.

Milton married Ethel Mary Harris on September 26, 1922, in Niagara Falls, Wellend, Ontario, Canada. The couple would have one child, Phyllis Lenore, in 1928.

Milton passed away on March 10, 1928, in Niagara Falls. His daughter was three months old and his wife was recuperating in hospital from complications of childbirth. His cause of death listed as Mastoid. He was buried in Fairview Cemetery, Niagara Falls, on March 13th.
