Edith Opal Strickland was born about October 6, 1916 in Texas, United States, daughter of James Hiram Strickland (1873–1955) and Rose Lee Chennault (~1889–~1960).[1]
In 1920, Edith (3) was living in household of James Strickland (45) in Justice Precinct 5, Fannin with her parents, James (45) and Rosa (30); her siblings, Horse (18), Jewel (16), Louise (11), Hazel (10), Gilbert (8), Elmo (6), Tressie (5), and Raymond (1); and Frances Strickland (16). [2]
In 1930, Edith (13) was living in household of J H Strickland (55) on Bridge-Honey Grove Road, Precinct 5 with her mother, Rosie (41); her siblings, Hazel (20), Elmo (15), Tressie (15), Raymon (11), Troy (9), Billie J (3), and William (1); and J H Strickland (55), Gilbert Strickland (18), Opal Strickland (14), Hait Strickland (9), and Delila Strickland (5). [3]
Her daughter was Carolyn Rose Smith (1946–2019).
