Walter John Strugnell was born in Southampton, Hampshire, England, son of George Strugnell. Walter, son of George and Ann Strugnell, was baptised on 29 November 1840 in St. Michael, Southampton, Hampshire, England.[1] His birth was registered in the Oct-Nov-Dec quarter of 1840 in the Southampton district.[2]
Walter, son of George Strugnell, married Ellen Elizabeth Armstrong on 1 October 1873 on Saint Marylebone: Marylebone Road, Westminster, England.[3] They do not appear to have had any children.
Walter became a member of the The Royal Society of Musicians of Great Britain on the 6 September 1874 as confirmed in the Society's book, “Members of The Royal Society of Musicians 1738-1984” on Page 140

Walter's death (age 47) was registered in the Oct-Nov-Dec quarter of 1887 in the Greenwich district.[6] According to the Hampshire Chronicle of 31 December 1887, Walter had died at his residence in St Donett's Rd, New Cross, London.[7] He was buried at Southampton Cemetery.
