The sudden death of Mr. Edward Summerton, at 32 Dudley Street, Semaphore, a former well-known resident of Broken Hill. He was a moulder when at the Barrier and from his youth took a keen interest in music, especially bands. He was the conductor of the A.M.A. Band 1906-7. A son, Mr. Oswald Summerton, is well known for his musical achievements in Sydney (solo cornet). Mr. E. Summerton, who was 77yrs, has left a widow Emily Louisa, and adult family. Two daughters (Mesdames J. H. Cheffirs of Wolfram St. and R. S. Rowe of Morgan St.) reside in Broken Hill. The news of his death has come as a surprise, as in spite of his age he enjoyed good health and was very active.
