Biography
Ora Swafford was born in Castor, Louisiana in 1917. She was the daughter of Lee Swafford and Hattie Brown. She married William Rod Bogues around 1934.
Funeral services tor Mrs. Ora Mae Bogues of Minden were conducted Thursday May 4 1989 at 2 pm in the Minden Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel with Revs Shelton Young and Michael Gray officiating. Burial followed in the Garden of Memory.[1] Mrs. Bogues died at 5:15 am Tuesday May 2 1989 at the Palestine Texas Memorial Hospital after and extended illness. She was 72. She was a native of Castor and had resided in the Minden area for 32 years. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Church Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by a son Jerry Wayne Bogues. Survivors include her husband, William Rod Bogues Minden; two sons J.R. Bogues of Blanchard and William Reed Bogues of Minden, three daughters Helen Jo Richardson of Minden, Kathy Clay of Minden and Joy Lynn Agnew of Oakwood, Texas, three sisters, Grace Copeland of Harmon, Dora Tapley of LeMeca Texas, and Flora Bates of Corsicana, Texas, a brother Dallas Swafford of Harmon, 13 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Roy Gray, James White, James Robinson , Jimmy Batton, and RG Gates.[2]
