Biography
John Swan was born on July 13, 1772, in Fryeburg, Maine, the son of Joseph Greeley Swan and Elizabeth Evans.[1]
He married first, Elizabeth/Betsy Chapman. She died on August 28, 1801.
He married second, Polly Eames, on November 30, 1803. She bore all of his children, as follows:[2]
- Betsey Chapman, b. 21 Jul 1804
- Mary, b. 12 Jul 1806
- Nancy Eames, b. 21 Mar 1808
- Patty Eames, b. 30 Oct 1809
- John Evans, b. 19 Aug 1811
