Biography
Daughter of Harmon Swank and Mary Ann Elizabeth Miller.
She married James B. Keeney 20 Oct 1859 in Linn County, Oregon.[1]
The family lived in Brownsville in the early 1860s. They moved to eastern Oregon for a time. In 1870 they were at Willow Creek Valley in Baker County. James Keeney was age 30 b Mo. Susan Keeney was age 25 b Mo. Daughter Evelyn was age 9 b Oregon. Twins George and Gerome were age 7. Son Jasper was age 5. Son William was age 2.[2]
By 1880 the family had returned to Brownsville.

In the 1900 Census Susan at age 55 was listed as a widow. This is incorrect. She was living in Brownsville with her son Jerry age 36 and nephew Glen Keeney, age 9 and servant Eva Minere, age 15.[4]
Although Susan was listed as a widow in 1900, her husband reappears in the 1910 Census. James and Susan were living in the household of their son Henry in Crawfordsville.
