MRS. E. ELLEM
CASINO, Sunday. — The funeral took place to-day of Mrs. Esther Ellem, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. Robertson, West-street, on Saturday after noon, following a long illness.
Mrs. Ellem, who was 64, was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Tapper. She was born at Apple Tree Flat, near Tabulam. For many years she lived with her parents at Wyan, and after marrying Mr. William Ellem, lived on the land at Booyong. Mr. Ellem was killed there 27 years ago.
Following her husband's death Mrs. Ellem returned to the Wyan district, but for the past 20 years had lived in Casino.
She is survived by two sons, Alfred Ellem (Lake Illawarra) and H. O. Ellem (A.I.F.), three daughters, Mesdames S. Hansen (Kyogle), A Robertson (Casino), and C. O'Brien (Lismore). Sisters are Mesdames W. Crawley (Casino), W. Dolby (Evans Head), G. Fairbairn (Lismore), J. Thurgate ((Lismore), J. Ellem (Grafton), J. Fogwell (Sydney), and J. Nicholls (Sydney). Brothers are Messrs. Harry Tapper (Mullumbimby) and Edward Tapper (A.I.F.).
Following a service at St, Mark's Church of England this afternoon, interment took place in Casino cemetery. Rev. G. Stuart Watts officiated at the church and at the graveside. The funeral arrangements were in the hands of Trevor D. Bevan.
