Robert married Ellen Hunt on 30 Apr 1865 at St Thomas' Church in Ashton in Makerfield, Lancashire. Both were living in Haydock, and neither had been married before. Robert was a fireman aged 20; Ellen was a servant aged 19. Their fathers were named as Thomas Taylor (labourer) and John Hunt (collier). The witnesses were William Mather and Joseph Oakden.
Their daughter Mary Ellen was born in 1865 in Ashton in Makerfield.[1]
Their son Robert was christened on 25 Nov 1866 at St Peter's Church in Parr, St Helens, Lancashire.[2]
Their daughter Elizabeth was born in about 1868 in Sutton, St Helens, Lancashire.
Their daughter Jane was born in 1869 in Sutton, St Helens, Lancashire.
Their son John Thomas was born in 1871 in St Helens, Lancashire.[3]
