Charles Taylor was an English engraver, also known as a man of letters and a biblical scholar.
He was born in 1756 in Essex, England. He was the eldest child of Isaac and Sarah Taylor.
He was articled to his father as an engraver, and then went into business as an engraver in London, England. He married Mary Forrest in 1777.
He produced a revision of the Dictionary of the Bible by Antoine Augustin Calmet (1672-1757). He also edited tne Literary Annual Register in 1808.
He died in 1823 in Holborn, Middlesex, and was buried in Bunhill Fields, Islington, Middlesex.
