Description

This template is used to highlight ancestors who were part of a lineage society, and who are documented on an approved membership list. A lineage society (sometimes called a hereditary society) is an organization whose membership is limited to persons who can prove lineal descent from a qualifying ancestor. For applicable lineage societies, or for requests to expand this sticker to include other societies not yet represented, see Wikipedia:List_of_hereditary_and_lineage_organizations.

To add this sticker to a profile, place the string similar to the text in Code used: column of Examples table anywhere in the biography part of the profile. Usually you should put it next to the text describing a Sticker, but it should always be below the == Biography == heading and above the == Sources == heading.

Notes

For Patriots recognized by the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (NSSAR), please use the NSSAR Patriot Ancestor sticker (see Template: NSSAR Patriot Ancestor for that sticker's required parameters).
