Biography
Mary Louisa Tharp was born 2 May 1840 and died in 1890 (MEN). She married Silas Johnissee on 25 May 1856 (CMR). Silas was in the 1850 census (as Johnesee), age 16, living in the HH of Thomas and Clarissa Newell Reynolds. Also living with the Reynolds family was Mary Ann Johnesee, age 8. Silas and Mary Tharp Johnissee are in the 1860 Calhoun census (as Johnasy) living next door to Thomas and Clarissa Newell Reynolds (Runolds). Silas is 26, a lumberer, born in NC. Mary is 20. They are not in the 1870 or 1880 Calhoun census, and I haven’t found them in the 1900 census in any location. There are Johnisees in the 1900 Greene, Jersey and Madison counties censuses which need to be investigated.
