Thomas Hasell Thomas was born 16 Jan 1767 in St Denis Parish, Berkley, South Carolina

Thomas was the husband of Ann Peyre Walter and parent of John Peyre (Thomas M.D.) Thomas M.D. and Samuel Peyre Thomas.

Thomas died 10 Nov 1818 in Betaw Plantation, St Stephens Parish, South Carolina. He was buried at Saint Stephen Episcopal Church Cemetery, Berkeley County, South Carolina,

Inscription on Tombstone: Sacred to the memory of Thomas Hassell Thomas who died 10th Nov. 1818, Aged 37 years 9 months and 10 days. Also his wife, Ann Thomas, who died 25th April 1818 Aged 40 years 5 months and 8 days. Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord. Even so saith the spirit, for they rest from their labors and their works do follow them. This stone is Erected by their only daughter in testimony to her undying Respect and affection.

Research Notes

The import of ROSEBOROUGH10_2013.ged on Nov 25, 2013 lists date of born as 16 Jan 1767 in St Denis Parish, Berkley, South Carolina. Also listed the date of death as 1801-11-10, as the original entry on the changes section of this profile.

However FAG Memorial has the inscription on Tombstone saying Thomas who died 10th Nov. 1818, was 37 years and 9 mos which would make the year of birth 1781 to be a correct date of birth. FAG however has the date of birth Unknown. Either the transcription was incorrect for date of death on the FAG or the date of death should be returned to 1801 or 1804 which would make the math more correct.
