Biography

Anthony Thompson was born in County Durham, England.

Anthony was born in Stranton, Durham, England, in 1859. His birth was registered in the first quarter in Stockton. He was the son of William Thompson and Sarah Burton. He was enumerated in the 1861 and 1871 census residing with his parents and siblings in Stranton. He appeared in the 1881 census residing in the household of brother in law Thomas Hankey in Stranton. Anthony was twenty one, single, and a "Cartwright".

Anthony married Mary Jane Watson in 1883. The marriage was registered in the second quarter in Hartepool. The couple would have at least ten children between 1885 and 1900.

Anthony passed away in 1927. His death was registered in the fourth quarter in Hartlepool, Durham.
