In 1860 and 1880, Samuel moved with his wife Cathrine and their children to Wanbeck, Pepin, Wisconsin, United States. [1]. [2]
Samuel died on July 23, 1894 in Pepin, aged 92. He was buried in Waubeek Cemetery, Durand, Pepin County, Wisconsin.[3][4]
