William THURLBY was born about 1650 in South Rauceby, Lincolnshire. He married Ann SUTTON on 30 April 1674 in his hometown. They had seven children in 16 years. He died in 1714 at the age of 64, and was buried in South Rauceby, Lincolnshire.

  5. Will The copy of the will was obtained by Norm Weston from Lincolnshire Archives and copied and given out to various other THURLBY researchers to help me read and make sense of it. Most of the work was done by Walter and Ann Blanchard who had done this kind of thing before whilst doing their degrees in Regional and LocaL History.
    Last Will and Testament of William THURLBY dated 1715 1. In the name of God Amen. The Thirtieth day of April Ano Domini 1715. I 2. William Thurlby senior of North Rawceby in the County of Lincoln~ 3. Husbandsman being sick & (Weake) in body but of Good & perfect memory~ 4. ------ & unto allmighty God, do ordaine. Declare Constitute and make this 5. (my) Last will and testament. Revoking & Disanulling by (these)(&)(hence) all former 6. ----- wills and (testam), or testaments by me heretofore made or demand of (hereby) 7. (Nor) by writeing & this to be (onely) taken for my last will and testament. And for 8. ----ting of my Temporall Estate I do order give and dispose of the same.............. 9. manner and form following: Imprimus( means firstly) I give and bequeath my soul unto 10. Almighty God my Maker hopeing to be saved and to receive (sure) Pardon 11. of my Sinns Through the Mercy of Jesus Christ my Saviour and my 12. body Committ to the Earth to be Decently Buried According to the description 13. of the Executrix & Executor hereafter Mentioned and expressed Item(means next) I give 14. to my son William Thurlby One Cow and 'next' I give unto my Grandaughter 15 (?)
