Obituary

Delores Inell Smith was born on March 3rd, 1934 in Warrenton, TX. She entered heavens pearly gates surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, June 30th, 2015 in her hometown of Houston.

Delores is preceded in death by loving parents Charlie R. and Erna V. Tiedt and her beloved husband of 35 years Clarence "Smitty" Smith. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter Debra Kay Kraatz, son Gary Dale Kraatz and wife Jeannie. Grandchildren, Jason Kraatz and wife Janette, Nichole Warden and husband Chad. Great-grandchildren Alexis, Jacob, Kelsi, Addison, and many more friends and family.

Delores was a consummate mother and homemaker. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. Delores devoted more than 20 years to the American Legion Auxiliary serving at Post 490 as President for many years, Post 521, and finally at Post 77. Delores' achievements in life were numerous, but she will be remembered most as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend always putting others before herself. She had the most generous and loving heart that touched many lives with her presence. Her family and friends will always be thankful for the gift that was her life.

The family will receive friends for visitation, Sunday, July 5th, 2015 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm at American Heritage Funeral Home. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held Monday, July 6th, 2015 at 9:00 am also at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Dr. Houston, TX 77038. Interment will follow services at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
