Alida was born in Amsterdam on 17 December 1799 and baptised on 25 December 1799 as the daughter of Anton Hendrik Tijsmeijer and Alida Abels. The baptismal record does not state any witnesses.[1]
On 21 May 1828, aged 28, she married the 30-year-old Harmanus Feijn in Amsterdam. It is stated that they were both born in Amsterdam, that he is a carter and she a sales woman. Two children have been legitimized. Furthermore it is stated that her father Antoon Hendrik Tijsmeijer is a tailor servant[2] They had the following children:
- Hermanus Jurriaan (Tijsmeijer) Feijn (1821-1842)
- 1824 Dina Maria Feijn[3]
- Antonius Fijn (1827-1831)[4][5]
Her husband Harmanus Feijn died on 22 September 1833 in Amsterdam. It is stated that he was married to Alida Tijsmeijer.[6]
Sometime between 22 September 1833 and January 1836, she must have met Dirk Hendrik Dekker because they had one child:
A marriage record for Alida and Dirk had not been found and her hospital record of 1938 states that she is unmarried. Dirk Hendrik Dekker is also not mentioned on her death record.
On 29 November 1838 she was admitted as a patient to the "Buitengasthuis" on the "ward for ill woman". It is stated that her bed number is 20, Lutheran, aged 38, worker, unmarried, born in Amsterdam, living at Anjeliersgracht, parents Dirk Teysmeyer and Alida Abels, profession father is basket maker in Amsterdam. Finally it is stated that she left on 14 January 1839 and that she stayed 46 days in total.[7][8]
Alida Tijsmeijer died on 14 February 1839 in Amsterdam at the age of 39. It is stated that she was the widow of Hermanus Vijn and daughter of Antonie Tijsmeijer and Alida Abels. There's no mention of her current husband Dirk Hendrik Dekker. She died at the "Buitengasthuis" on the "Oudzijds Achterburgwal". The death was reported by Jan van Olij, hospice director ("Sterfhuis vader") and Caspar Reeman, acquaintance of the deceased. It is furthermore stated that she lived on the Anjeliersgracht in Amsterdam.[9]
