Biography
Birth
Leah Elizabeth Timms was born in Brize Norton, Oxfordshire in 1873. She was the daughter of Charles Timms and his wife Ann, born Ann Miller. [1] She was baptised at St Britius in Brize Norton on 1st June 1873. Her father stated on the register that he was a mason. [2]
In 1881, Leah Timms was living at Brize Norton with her parents Charles and Ann and their other children. Her age was given as 7, implying a birth date in 1873 or 1874. Her birthplace was given as Brize Norton, Oxfordshire. She was at school [3].
Marriage
Arthur Albert Higgs and Leah Elizabeth Timms were married after banns at St Britius', Brize Norton, Oxfordshire on 26th March 1892.[4] Arthur was a 22 year old bachelor, working as a coachman and living in Kencott. He was the son of George Higgs who was a turner. Leah was only 19 years old, living in Brize Norton and the daughter of Charles Timms who was a mason. They both signed their own names on the register and the witnesses to the marriage were Leonard Timms and Sarah Ann Upston.[5]
