Albert is the son of James Tincher according to the 1850 and 1860 census of Fayette County, Virginia (now WV).
Albert Tincher enlisted with the 21st Virginia (Peters) Cavalry, on Apr 1, 1863, at Wytheville, Virginia. He was captured at or near Moorefield, Virginia, on Aug 10, 1864, age 21; farmer; 5'11"; fair complexion, brown eyes, dark hair; residence of Greenbriar, Virginia. He was subsequently transported to Camp Chase, Ohio, where he passed away of smallpox in Dec 1864. He is interned at Camp Chase Confederate Cemetery. [1]
