John Tom was born on April 28, 1820 in Blisland, Cornwall, England, United Kingdom, son of William Edwin Tom (1791–1883) and Anne Lane (1796–1870).[1]
John married Ann Elder (born on June 27, 1821 in Parramatta, New South Wales, Australia; daughter of James Elder and Mary Smith).[2] Their children were:
John died on August 1, 1895 in Ophir via Orange, New South Wales, aged 75.[1]
