Biography

Clara Serena Totten was born 26 July 1882 in Salamanca, Cattaraugus, New York, United States. ^[1][2]

Clara (17) married William Hughes Duggan (21) (born on November 24, 1878 in Barclay, Bradford, Pennsylvania, United States; son of William H. Duggan and Minnie May Hughes) on March 15, 1900 in Bradford, McKean, Pennsylvania. ^[3] Their children were:

• Earl William Duggan (1902–1980) .
• Rena E. Duggan (1905–1995) .
• Eleanor May Duggan (1910–1976)

The 1900 Census shows Rena "Daughter in Law", in household of William H Sr at Sanford Street, Bradford.Her age is 17 and her birthday is given as July 1882 in Pennsylvania. ^[4]

In 1909 William and Serena were listed on a City Directory for Bradford, Pennsylvania, United States.^[5]

By 1910, William and Rena were living in their own house at 64 Sanford Street, adjacent to the houses of William’s parents and siblings.^[7]

The family was still at 64 Sanford Street in 1920.^[8]

In 1930 only Eleanor remained in her parent’s household.^[9]

In the 1940 Census, Eleanor and her son Hughes had rejoined the household at 64 Sanford Street. ^[10]

Rena’s husband William died in January of 1941. ^[11][12]

Rena, Eleanor, and Hughes were still at 64 Sanford Street in 1950, but were joined by Rena’s son Earl and his family. ^[13]

Rena died on 11 JUN 1951 in Bradford, McKean, Pennsylvania, United States.^[14] She is buried in Willow Dale Cemetery in Bradford. ^[1]
