Biography

Jesse was born in 1855. He was the son of Jesse Spencer and Sarah Travers. He passed away in 1896.

Birth Registration: Jesse Travers Spencer and Jesse Spencer Travers are one of the same. He was registered under Travers, as well as Spencer.

He was raised, and worked on the farm, which was owned by his late uncle John Brown Morey (Morey-1176). His father also named Jesse had taken over running the farm, after the death of his uncle.

Between 1853 and approximately 1871 the surname kept changing between Travers and Spencer, It seems sometime in 1871, after the 1871 census, that Jesse and his other brothers, and sisters, took their father's name of Spencer, and used their late mother's name Travers as a middle name.

After the death of his own father in February 1892, Jesse ran the farm with his younger brother Henry until his own death.
