Biography

John Tregenza was born in Mylor Bridge, Cornwall in 1830.^[1] He was the son of Thomas Tregenza and Isabella Hitchins.

In 1854 he married Mary Jane Champion in St Gluvias, Cornwall.^[2] By 1856 they had emigrated to South Australia where they had five children:

• Albert, born 1856;
• George Champion, born 1858;
• Edward James, born 1860;
• Percy John, born 1862;
• Louis Gawler, born 1864.
