Biography
Anna was born about 1637 in Alpirsbach near Freudenstadt, Duchy of Württemberg. Her date of birth is unknown due to the lack of records. Anna's approximate year of birth was determined based on the information in her burial record quoted below, according to which she was 88 years old when she died in 1725. She was the daughter of the miller Nicolaus Trick from Alpirsbach.[1]
Anna married Johannes Armbruster from Schuttern near Lahr, Margraviate of Baden, on 14 May 1655 in Alpirsbach.[2] The couple lived in Alpirsbach, where Anna's husband worked as a butcher and was keeper of the "Ochsen" inn for several years. Their children were:
Maria, b. 23 March 1659[4], married the widower Jacob Scheerer from Reutin near Alpirsbach 3 June 1684 in Alpirsbach.[5]
Matthäus, b. 20 September 1661[6], married Anna Catharina Wößner from Dornstetten near Freudenstadt 27 January 1685 in Dornstetten[7], buried 9 January 1731 in Dornstetten.[8]
Johannes, b. about 25 June 1664, married the widow Anna Maria Röck from Alpirsbach 21 February 1688 in Alpirsbach[9], died 4 June 1749 in Alpirsbach at the age of 85 years less 21 days.[10]
Johanna, b. 3 January 1667[12] and buried 30 November 1670 in Alpirsbach.[13]
Andreas, b. 16 July 1669[14], married the widow Magdalena Schneider née Gebhardt 8 July 1690 in Alpirsbach[15], died 20 Apri 1734 in Alpirsbach.[16]
Barbara Sophia, b. 6 July 1674[17], married the butcher Hans Georg Haas from Freudenstadt 17 April 1694 in Freudenstadt[18], buired 23 February 1735 in Freudenstadt.[19]
Anna Agnes, b. 11 December 1676[20], married the baker Matthäus Schneider from Rötenbach near Alpirsbach 5 September 1698 in Alpirsbach.[21]
Christian, b. 24 May 1679[22], married Catharina Trautwein from Schiltach near Alpirsbach 3 August 1700 in Alpirsbach.[23]
Anna was buried on 12 January 1725 in Alpirsbach at the age of 88. Her burial record mentions that she was the oldest resident of the parish and lived to see 136 children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.[24]
