Biography

He was baptised 14/5/1804 at St Mary Ealing Middlesex. His parents were William Kirby and Jane Trimmer.His mother was named Jane. Baptism records have his date of birth.

He sailed to the Swan River Colony on the Atwick arriving 19/10/1829. He was age 26 (aka Samuel) and was with his cousin Douglas Thompson age 31 and 10 employees of various trades. Both were described as agriculturalists.

Also on board were his two brothers.

He was alotted land in Guildford in March 1830.

A notice in the Inquirer dated 26/8/1840 indicates that he had owned land on the Avon River near Northam which he had sold to a Mr Walters some time prior to that date.

He died age 40 at Albany of apolexy.

There was an obituary for him in the Norfolk Chronicle on 22/6/1844.

He died intestate and was a bachelor. Administration of his estate was left to his mother Jane who was living in Albany. She left Western Australia in September 1845.

In April 1845 a government notice indicates that he owner 7,000 acres in the Avon Valley.
