Biography of Ellen TROY SULLIVAN of 1849

Ellen Troy was born 1849, the daughter of Patrick Troy, in or near Dungarvan, Waterford County, Ireland.

Ellen Troy married Patrick Sullivan, the son of John Sullivan in Waterford County, Ireland on October 19, 1867 when she was 18 years old and her husband Patrick Sullivan was 22 years old.

Ellen Troy Sullivan and her husband Patrick Sullivan settled in Dungarvan, County Waterford, where they raised a large family

NOTE: In 1911, John should be 43, Patrick should be 41, William should be 39, Mary should be 36 and Bridget should be 36. We are not finding Sullivans of these ages in Dungarvan, and they may have moved or passed away. Ellen Sullivan is found at age 62, which would be correct for a birthdate of 1849. We are finding older Sullivans and younger ones and the majority of the Sullivan family lives on Sarfield Street in Dungarvan, Waterford, Ireland.

Ellen Troy Sullivan may have lost her husband by 1911. There are no Patrick Sullivan's in Dungarvan in 1911.

Ellen Troy Sullivan may be the same Ellen Sullivan, age 50 who is listed on the 1901 Census of Ireland in DED Dungarvan No. ! living alone in House 8 on Davis Street, and working as a "Nurse - Domestic Servant", however this Ellen Sullivan on the census is not married and can not read. In 1901, the youngest children of Ellen Troy Sullivan would be 26 years old, and not necessarily living with their mother.

Ellen Troy Sullivan maybe the the Ellen Sullivan, age 62, living in House 2 in Sarsfield, Dungarvan No. 2, Waterford, Ireland as listed on the 1911 Census of Ireland. This Ellen Sullivan lives with several grown children, but only Bridget matches name and age. This is the only Ellen Sullivan of the right age in County Waterford in 1911.
