Elizabeth was born in 1798.

Elizabeth Tucker’s christening is recorded in the Chardstock Parish records. Her mother's name is given as Mary Tucker. No name of a father is given in the record. The parish record is noted ‘bbd’, unfortunately the records do not indicate what these initials mean, they would however appear they mean 'bastard born daughter'.

In the Chardstock Parish records there is an entry for a Christening of a Mary Tucker on 14th July 1765. Mary’s parents are shown as Samuel and Joan Tucker.
