When Elizabeth Merryfield Turner was born in 1817 in Hadleigh, Essex, England, her father, Robert, was 25, and her mother, Elizabeth, was 25. She married William Smith on October 2, 1841, in Rochford, Essex, England. They had ten children in 21 years. She died in April 1874 in Billesdon, Leicestershire, England, at the age of 57.
