Biography

Mary Tuthill was the daughter of Henry Tuthill and Bridget (surname unknown).[1]

Note: this private publication states three daughters of Henry Tuthill the immigrant and wife Bridget without giving any primary or contemporaneous source. These 3 daughters are not supported by Anderson's Great Migration or any other scholarly work on this family (see Tuttle-7 profile for sources). Unless an actual source for the parentage of Mary Tuthill can be found, her parentage should be considered unknown.

It is contradicted by Anderson's Great Migration Directory, by "The Tuthill Family of Tharston, Norfolk Co., England and Southold, Suffolk Co., New York" ... The Tuthill Family of Tharston: pg. 482 both of which DO list primary sources.

Disconnecting this Mary Tuthill from parents Henry Tuthill-7 and his wife Bridget Unknown. No proof of her relation to this family or her existence. Does not appear in "Genealogies of Long Island Families" section on Tuthill family https://www.ancestry.com/imageviewer/collections/48330/images/LongIslandFamII-001512-481? or in any other reputable source. Individual sources within this profile will be addressed but none give any primary or contemporaneous source for Mary's parentage including Alva Tuttle's work which states that Mary, Ann & Sarah were daughters of Henry & Bridget but with no primary source given. Her work is contradicted by Anderson and others.
