Thomas Twiss was chirstened in 1806 in Rostherne, and was the son of William and Mary Twiss [1].
In 1851[2], Thomas, age 45, and his family are living at Park Gate Farm, Shaw Heath.

Mary Elizabeth Twiss, daughter, age 14 (b. approx 1835, Tatton)

Sarah H Twiss, daughter, age 7 (b. approx 1844, Knutsford)
Susannah Twiss, daughter, age 3 (b. approx 1848, Knutsford)
Margaret Taylor, servant, age 23.
In the 1871 census[3], Thomas (age 64) is living with his wife, Hannah (age 64), and their 30 year old son, John Twiss, his 11-year-old niece, Sarah Abbeson, and his 23-year-old daughter, Susan H Hunt. Thomas is a farmer of 80 acres and employer of two men and a boy.
Thomas Twiss was buried on the 27 February 1873 at the age of 66[4].
