Biography
Elisabetha Dorothea Uber was born on 25 May 1793 and baptized the following day in the Evangelisch church of Horrheim, Württemberg, recorded as the child of Caspar Uber and Elisabeta Barbara Knodel. Her maternal grandfather was Christian Knodel. [1] Another record from Horrheim shows the marriage of Caspar Uber and Elisabeta Barbara Knodel, daughter of Christian Knodel, on 28 January 1795.[2] There may be an error in the date on one of these records.
Elisabetha Dorothea Uber married Christian Gottlob Rau in the Evangelisch church of Horrheim, Württemberg, on 3 November 1818.[3]
Their son Gottlieb Friederich Rau was born on 15 August 1819 and baptized on 18 August 1819 in Horrheim, Württemberg, recorded as the child of Christian Gottlieb Rau & Elisabetha Dorothea, born Uberin.[4]
The family immigrated to the United States in 1830, settling initially in Erie, Pennsylvania, and relocating to Wabash County, Indiana, by 1844.[5]
She must have died before 1850, when the U.S. census recorded her husband without a wife.
