Biography

OBITUARY: Mass of Christian Burial for Lillian A. Galbreath, age 95 of Rockdale, will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2018 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockdale with Father Pedro Castillo, Deacon Gus Coelho and Deacon Don Sims officiating. Burial in the Salty Cemetery near Thorndale. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday July 5, 2018 with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Lillian Galbreath was born October 31, 1922 in Schulenburg, Texas to Fred W. and Anna (Meyer) Ueckert. She attended and graduated from Schulenburg High School. On July 31, 1948, she and Billy K. Galbreath were married at St. Henrys Catholic Church in San Antonio. Lillian worked as a public-school aid and as a school Librarian. She has lived in Schulenburg, San Antonio, Seguin, Waco, Austin, Axtell, Smiley, Thorndale and the past 30 years in Rockdale. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the St. Joseph Ladies Society in Rockdale.

Lillian passed away Monday morning, July 2, 2018 in the Legacy Nursing Home in Cameron. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Billy K. Galbreath on May 17, 2018; her parents; her only sister, Marie Emme Eppler in 2001 and her husband James Alexander Eppler in 1998.

Surviving are, two sons, Billy Dale Galbreath and wife Robin of Rockdale, Gary James Galbreath and wife Brenda of New Braunfels, Texas; 7 grandchildren, Carly Kraenzel and husband Eric of Dripping Springs, Texas, Kimberly Marquis and husband Danny of Spring Branch, Texas, Kevin Galbreath and wife Rachel of New Braunfels, Courtney Poole and husband Bobby of Kyle, Texas, McKenna K. Galbreath of College Station, Texas, Kelsey Galbreath of Galveston, Texas and Grant Galbreath of College Station; 9 great-grandchildren, Madison and Colton Marquis, Connor, Logan and Bentley Kraenzel, Carson and Harper Galbreath, Tenley and Hailey Poole; and nieces, Susan Seewald of Austin, Texas and Donna Asher of Boerne, Texas.

Serving as pallbearers are, Grant Galbreath, Kevin Galbreath, Brian Galbreath, Darrell Ogea, Lynn Ogea and Phil Asher.
