Biography

Ursula, last name unknown, was born about 1656 in England.

She married Wiliam Shakespeare in 1676. They had seven confirmed children and two alleged sons, Charles Shakespeare and Henry Shakespeare. As no records for Charles or Henry have yet been located, I am detaching them as children for William and Ursula.

  1. Elizabeth Shakespeare was born in 1683 and baptized 13 May 1683. [1] No further records have yet been located.
  2. William Shakespearewas born in 1684 and baptized November 7, 1684 in Ipsley, Warwickshire, England[2] William died at just over one month old and was buried December 12, 1684, also in Ipsley, Warwickshire, England. [3]
  3. John Shakespeare was born in 1687 and was baptized October 9, 1687 in Ipsley, Warwickshire, England. A transcription of his baptsim reads as follows: "bap 1687 Oct 9 John s Wm Shakespeare & his wife.'" [4] John died in 1691 and was buried in Ipsley, Warwickshire, England, on August 5, 1691. A transcription of the entry reads as follows: "bur 1691 Aug 5 John s Wm Shakesby"[5]
  4. Richard Shakespeare was born in 1688 and baptized December 23, 1688 in Ipsley, Warwickshire, England. [6] Richard died before March 1,1690, and was buried in Ipsley, Warwickshire, England. [7]
  5. Anne Shakespeare was born in 1689 and baptized July 23, 1689, in Ipsley, Warwickshire, England. [8]
  6. Mary Shakespearewas born in 1691 and baptized November 29, 1691 in Ipsley, Warwickshire, England. [9] Mary died a week later and was buried on December 6, 1891 in Ipsley, Warwickshire, England.[10]
  7. Ursula Shakespearewas born, baptized and buried November 25, 1693 in Ipsley, Warwickshire, England. [11] Her surname was recorded as Shakesby.

No death record for Ursula has been located. As such, I have marked her date of death as after November 25, 1693, the date her younest child, Ursula, was baptized. Ursula presumably died in England.
