Biography

Joseph Johnson's father was Arthur Johnson (a Staymaker) and his mother was Margaret Hughes. They married on 23 April 1767 at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Dublin. Little is recorded for the ancestry of Mary Donnell, though my father has recorded a grandfather for Mary, being Fleetwood Donnell, who married Catherine Parry, at St. Andrew's, on 9 February 1731; the marriage that is therefore 'missing' is that of Mary's parents, which would have occurred sometime in the 1760s or thereabouts.

Hughes was Margaret's married surname by her first marriage, out of which there was one child. My father provides no record of Margaret's original maiden surname, nor of any of her ancestry.

Arthur Johnson's father was Henry Johnson, who married Sarah Key, again at St. Andrew's, on 4 March 1747. No ancestry is recorded, by my father, for Sarah Key.

Henry Johnson's father was Joseph Johnson, who married Ann Muckle, again at St. Andrew's, on 12 May 1727. No ancestry is recorded, by my father, for Ann Muckle.

Joseph Johnson's father was Samuel Johnson, who married Anne Lawler, again at St. Andrew's, on 24 February 1696. No ancestry is recorded, by my father, for Anne Lawler.
