Sarah (Maiden Name Unknow) was born on Jul 17, 1778, probably in Mecklenburg or Rowan County. She died on Jul 14, 1863 at the age of 84 years, 11 months and 4 days in Rowan County.[1]
William married Sarah Unknown.
They had the following children[2]:
Frances "Fanny" (Gray) Culbertson (1821-after 1880), married Richard Culbertson
In the 1860 Census, she is living with the family of Richard Culbertson and Frances "Fannie" Culbertson, along with Margaret, Elizabeth and Isabella Gray. Margaret, Elizabeth and Isabella are living with the Culbertsons in the 1870 Census and in the 1880 Census Elizabeth and Isabella are living with the Culbertsons and identified as Aunts of Richard Culbertson, which means that his wife, Frances/Fanny Culbertson's maiden name was Gray and she was a daughter of Sarah and William Gray.[3]
Her death date and age were entered into the Archibald Gillespie Family Bible. Her husband is William Gray, according to her tombstone and the 1850 Census record. William died before 1860.[4]
