Ira is the child of Winfield Updike and Florence Burdick.

Arizona Republic (Phoenix, AZ) 19 May 1982 - Youngtown - Ira C Updike, 89, of 11810 113th Ave, a retired radio dispatcher, died 17 May 1982, in his home. Mr Updike was born in Iterlaken, NY and came to Arizona 3 years ago. He was a veteran of WWI. Survivors include his children: Florence Harvey, Mary Colville and Charles; two brothers & two sisters; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
