Herman II van Kuyc was the son of Hendrik van Kuyc (1070-1108). Herman was:
Count of Cuijck (1108-1170)
Lord of Grave (1133)
Steward (voogd) of St. Servaas in Maastricht (1146)
"Burggraaf" of Utrecht (1121-1168)
Founding of Convent
Herman his brother Gotfried and their mother Alvardis founded the convent at marienweerd. In a charter of 1129 it states: “Alveradis mulier nobilis” donated property to Marienweerd, with the consent of “filiis suis Godefrido et Herimanno.”[1]
Conflict with Floris of Holland
In the 1130s Herman his brother Gotfried had a armed conflict against Floris of Holland ("Floris de Zwarte") and his brother Dirk van Holland. According to wikipedia Herman and Gotfried blocked a marriage and Floris responded with invading the Bisdom of Utrecht and the lands of Cuijk. Herman and Floris responded with gathering an army and counter Floris. In this conflict Floris was killed by Herman and Gotfried van Cuijck (1130 AD). Floris brother Dirk of Holland and his cousin emporer Lotharius III van Supplingburg countered and took over the properties and titles of Gotfried and Herman. [2]
In 1136 twelve nobels were guarantors for Hermand and Gotfried. They had their personal properties returned, but not their lands. In 1137 Lotharius died and his succesor Koenraad III van Hohenstaufen restored their cousin Andreas and Bishop of Utrecht and restored the properties of Hermand and Gotfried. They had to acknowledge Dirk of Holland as lord.[3]
The children of Dirk of Holland and Gotfried of Cuijck married.
Family
He passed away some time between 1167-1170. Vermast mentioned he was married to a daughter of Dirk van Goye.

There is a correction needed. I can not do that because I only have a pre-1700 certificate.
