Gerrit was christened in Steenbergen on the 5th of September, 1709, as the son of Willem Geertse van Nieuwenhuijsen and Maijke Jacobse van Ree. Witnesses at the christening were Ants Gerritse van Nieuwenhuijsen and Jacomijntje Janss van de Luijster.[1]
He, young man, born and living in Steenbergen, married in Sint Annaland on the 11th of March, 1735, with Catje Pelle, young daughter, born and living in Sint Annaland.[2]
Gerrit passed away before January 14, 1742, because the christening record of his daughter Geertje mentions the father as deceased.[3] On the 5th of December, 1742, Catje Pelle married in Sint Annaland for a second time, with Abram Walle.[4]
