1829 Joannes van Rijsingen was born in 1829 in Uden, Netherlands. His mother's name was Joanna.[1][2]
John immigrated to Wisconsin, USA and there, married to Antonia Van Der Wyst, had several children:
- Martin, married to Nellie Van Roy on 2 May 1882[3]
- Albert M., married to Ida Minor on 7 Apr 1886.[4]
- Henriette, married to John Van Able 30 Oct 1888[5]
- William, married to Mary Bremer on 24 May 1890[6]
- Elizabeth, married to Louis Diebels on 1 Jun 1892[7]
- Agatha, married to Antone Merline on 31 May 1893[8]
1871 Joannes (John) died in the Peshtigo Fire of 8 Oct 1871 in Peshtigo, Marinette, Wisconsin, USA.[1]

Martin Van Reisingen was one of the sons of Joannes anglicized to John in the U.S. Van Rijsingen (dutch spelling], Americanized to Van Reisingen, Joannes Van Rijsingen was born in Uden, Noord Brabant, Netherlands. He was the husband of Antonia van der Wijst [Dutch spelling] anglicized to VanderWyst. Martin's father, John was drafted, and served in the Wisconsin Civil War. Unknown why he was drafted, because he had many children at the time. He was by occupation, a tailor. He did not bring his family with him. He rode on horseback to the Peshtigo area in hopes of establishing a tailoring business. As to the contribution by a Van Ryzin descendent, the surname was NEVER Van Rijsen. He appears in the 1860 U. S. Federal Census in Appleton, Outagamie County, WI., where he is listed as a tailor, living in Appleton, Outagamie County, WI. The family was living on College Ave. For some unknown reason, not all of the children born to him were listed. He has a birth record, and his mother was Joanna van Rijsingen. He was one of three children, and the only one who emigrated to the U. S. and settled in Outagamie County, WI[9]
