Elizabeth was born about 1805 in South Petherwin, Cornwall. She married Walter Sandercock Geake on January 25, 1826 in St Andrew, Plymouth, Devon. Both were "of this parish" and witnesses were Anna Davy (Walter's sister Ann Sandercock Geake), her husband William Davy and James Boulter. Of all of them, only William Davy signed with an X. [1]
In 1851, Elizabeth, age 46 and Walter, age 50, a "Victualler" were living at Edgcumbe Street in East Stonehouse, Devon with their children Henry 26, George 24, Emma 17, Daniel 12 and Marina 9 as well as Grace Chamberlain age 23, a servant.[2]
In 1861, Elizabeth age 56 and Walter age 60, victualler, were living on Market Street in East Stonehouse and adult children Ellen / Emma 36 and Daniel 22 were with them.[3]
In 1871, she is age 66, widowed and "housekeeper" and the head of the home she shares with her daughter Maria Brock age 29 and her granddaughter Emma M. G. Glanville age 9. [4]
In 1881, Elizabeth, age 76, was head and widow and "Owner of Property" with daughter Marina Brock, 39 and a widow and granddaughter Emma Glanville age 19 as well as lodger Catherine Godbeer age 49.
She died on July 16, 1881 in East Stonehouse, Devon.
