Biography
Between 1177 and 1181, Roelein de Werdun was a witness to a gift by Hugh II, earl of Chester 1153-81:
to Alexander, magister, tutor of the earl's son, Storeton and Puddington on his marriage with Annabella, granddaughter of Alan Savage, all her inheritance, to wit, Stortun and Pudintun and all their appurtenances, to be held in fee and inheritance freely and quietly from him and his heirs to Alexander and to Alexander's heirs, as Hugh's father's charter bears witness, witnessed by Bertram de Werdon, John the constable, Robert Patric, Richard de Luvetot, Radulfo the sheriff, Roelein de Werdun and William Mansell.[1]
