Biography

Chester was born[1] in 1915, the son of James Clifton Vidito and Corella D. Ernst. He died [2] in 2008. His obituary[3] noted:

VIDITO, Chester Vernon- 93, Kentville, formerly of Wilmot, passed away on Monday, December 22, 2008 in Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville. Bornin Nictaux, he was a son of the late Clifton and Corella (Carey) Vidito. Chester was a veteran of the Second World War. He worked for Imperial Oil, Kentville, was a contract painter at 14 Wing, Greenwood and owned and operated an Irving Service Station in Wilmot. Chester enjoyed his camp on an island at Lake Sixty, spending much time with friends and family fishing, snowmobiling and four wheeling. He would be found in later years operating a “Yard Sale” at his Wilmot homes, specializing in everything from junk to bicycles. Chester loved entertaining friends and he enjoyed feeding his bird friends daily, as well as a chew of Redman Plug. He is survived by his daughter, Gloria (Vidito) Troop, Wilmot; grandson, Chris Troop, Berwick; son Jerry Vidito, Upper Canard; granddaughters, Tiffany (Rick) Scott, Calgary, Alberta; Lyndsay Vidito, Ottawa, Ontario; great-granddaughter, Emma Scott, Calgary, Alberta; sisters, Norma (Gerald) Grant, Nictaux; and Elizabeth (James) Keddy, Cambridge. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Mildred Georgina Banks in 2005 after 67 years of marriage, son Vernon Wayne Vidito in 1962; sisters, Leola Naugler; Viola Davies; Verda Orlowski; Edith Bruhm; brothers, Carl, Howard, Claude, Theodore, Lawrence and Arnold.
