Nicknamed "Arthur" was the 3rd son of Nathan Vinson and Elizabeth Garner.

m: ? Said to be Elizabeth Garner in Union District, SC. ~ 1836. (thought to be daughter of George Washington Garner), but there are a number of G.W. Garners. The one with a daughter Elizabeth A. was born in 1845.

m: Mary Paine, 13 Dec 1847, in Limestone, Alabama. They seemed to settle in Limestone, Alabama.

Census of 1850 shows household with new wife, Mary, and daughter: Salena Vinson. Census of 1880 shows extensive second family.
