Biography

Emanuel Vogle was born in 1930 in Williams Township, Northampton County, PA, a son of William Vogle and his wife Elizabeth (Raub) Vogle. When quite young he came to South Easton and worked in the wire mills for a number of years. He married Ann Eliza Metzgar in 1853. He served in the Civil War: apparently he is the Samuel Vogle listed in the 88th Regiment PA Volunteers, Company E. Later he started the grocery business that his son Adam took over when he died.
